Welcome to Two of Cups!
Week of December 16 2024
Welcome!
Hello, my sweet star child! I’m so glad you’re here and I hope that you find some tiny morsel of light to take you into this new week.
What am I doing here? The answer is both simple and complex, just like me. One of the things that is really important to me is spreading joy and light into the world. I truly believe that if we start with ourselves, we can change the world. I’ve been working diligently on my own mindset over the past couple of years, and I’m nowhere near perfect. But I’ve learned some important lessons, overcome some big obstacles, failed a million times, and succeeded a million times. I’m ready to share my experiences, and I’m hoping I can spread some sunshine to you, and then you can spread it to the people around you, and then the magic really starts to happen, and the world is a better place, and then we can all be happy forever.
Obviously, that’s a GIANT oversimplification, but I also think there’s real truth and value there. It really can be that simple. Think about it - if you feel happier and more joyful and you have hope for the future, how can you not radiate that positivity to the people around you? It’s a ripple effect, and we can all desperately use more joy. I’m not a therapist, I’m not an expert on anything, but I think that together, we can create magic. For ourselves and for each other. So that’s why I’m here, and I hope you’ll join me on this adventure.
There are a couple of really important things that I believe wholeheartedly:
The Universe is a mirror. What you see when you look at yourself is what you will find. Likewise - what you hold up on your side of the mirror will be shown to you from the other side. This is the same basic concept as the Law of Attraction (which I have super mixed feelings about because of the way it’s used as a crutch by many, but that’s a discussion for later) - whatever you are looking for you will find. As an example - you’re considering buying a new car. You look online at photos of a popular 4 door sedan and think maybe this would be a good choice. You particularly like the blue one. Suddenly, as you’re driving around in your beat up jalopy, you notice that that 4 door sedan is everywhere - you see them all the time - especially the cool blue you love. Are there actually MORE of these cars on the road all of a sudden? No. But now that you’re aware of them and actively looking for them, they appear like magic. It’s not magic at all - what you look for, you will find. Because you’re looking. You are the magic - the universe is giving you what you seek because you’re paying attention. Consider how you can harness this magic that’s already inside of you by focusing your energy and attention on positive outcomes instead of negative. Seek happiness, look for it.
Everything in the Universe is connected. You, me, the trees, my laptop, our ancestors, everything. You are a collection of particles that are vibrating at different frequencies to hold themselves together into you. Everything is static and finite. Nothing that is created ever disappears - it changes forms, but it’s still present. When a beloved pet passes away and is buried tenderly in the backyard, it’s forever. It will decay and feed the soil and nourish the grass, but the components that make up that creature are still present. Don’t get me started on the plastics that are clogging the oceans and the landfills overflowing with trash. That stuff is also forever. This interconnectedness is critical, though. Understanding that we are all a part of a much larger organism than we realize is important and can impact how we move through the world.
Why Two of Cups?
In tarot, the 2 of Cups is a card of unity, harmony, and the energetic connection between 2 people. That’s you and me! At least, I hope it is. Like I said, together we can change the world. Let’s get started!
What is this newsletter going to be about?
Wow, great question! I’m so glad you asked. My plans for now are to discuss tips, strategies, and ideas to help you find joy and positive energy in your daily life. There will probably be some woo woo stuff, because I’m into that sort of thing, but I’m going to keep it to a minimum and try to be as practical as possible to keep things accessible for as many of people as possible. Don’t let the woo turn you off - at least give me a chance.
As usual, I’m flying by the seat of my sherpa pants, but I’m planning to write weekly on Sunday evenings to get you prepped for a joyful week ahead. I’ll pull a tarot card that we can look at as a jumping off point - something to consider as the week unfolds. I’ll also leave you with some questions to consider. You can just kick them around in your head, but I’d love for you to use them as journal prompts as well. Down the road, I’ve got some interesting topics that I want to discuss, but I’d love for this to be a collaborative effort! What would YOU like to hear more about? Do you have topics you want me to address or things you’d like to learn? Tell me everything!
Our card for this week is from the Porcelain Tarot - I bought this deck from Amazon a couple of years ago, but I can’t find it now, so I think it’s out of print?
Page of Cups
The Page cards are typically messengers, and Cups are the suit of creativity, passion, emotion, and spiritual energy. This card invites us to reconnect with our inner child and find some playfulness. It also speaks of emotional intelligence, and the freedom to express your feelings.
This Week
Can you commit to finding 5 minutes every day to give your inner child a little snack and just play? Dance around to your favorite song, play Candy Crush, write a dirty limerick that you’ll never share with anyone, sing really loudly and badly into a Mister Microphone, do something just for the fun of it! Because you can. And because you deserve joy.
Questions to ponder - What is your inner child like? Draw a picture of them or write a description. In what ways do you ignore your inner child? How can you be a better inner child parent?
That’s it for this week! I hope you’ll ride shotgun with me as I try to spread light and sunshine into a world that feels too dreary sometimes. What do you say? I have snacks.

This is very exciting and something I am so here to read! Looking forward to the future entries.
I can definitely find a way to sneak some play snacks into my days!
